As human beings, we are somehow ‘programmed’ to look for the easiest ways around things. Why would you waste your strength and time nailing the difficult path when you can stroll the easiest?
However, there are certain times in life that the easiest path should be avoided…
One of such times is when it comes being HONEST.
Honesty is difficult to practise compared to being dishonest. As such, many of us have one way or the other (consciously or unconsciously) found ourselves living dishonest in life, especially to others.
On the face of it, living with dishonesty seems like the easiest option. It is easy to tell a lie sometimes than to tell the truth.
What we forget is that, anytime we are dishonest, we limit our options and we push ourselves to a rigid corner. In order to keep living with that dishonesty, we would have to probably step on to the next dishonesty.
The price you end up paying for being dishonest is never worth it. Am I the only who finds inner chaos whenever I walk the path of dishonesty?
Do you not feel great about yourself when you have been honest? Being dedicated to honesty does not only put the power of truth in your hands, it also gives you inner peace. It strengthens your spirit and relationships with people.
Mostly, being honesty is not easy. However, in the long run, it is much easier than dishonesty.
Maybe you do not see being dishonest as a big deal because you think you are only being dishonest to others and not yourself.
The fact is, being dishonest with others affects your wellbeing, your inner peace and the position you place yourself. Also, you can only be honest with yourself when you are honest with other people.
Being dishonest surely sounds like an easy route and it can be very tempting. However, in the long run, honesty is always the best path to take. Why live in deceit when you can live in peace and truth?
