As human beings, we will always want more but that does not mean we should not be happy with what we have at any point in time—especially this moment. If you decide to be happy with what you have now, you would feel great and some of the hovering stress will disappear.
It’s a difficult exercise especially when you feel you are not at the stage you want to belong. But you cannot keep going if you do not take a minute to be happy with what you have achieved (where you are).
Being happy with what you have now or where you are today does not prevent you from creating more or moving further. It assures you that you can actually move forward and it serves as encouragement—putting you in a place where you can work to achieve more.
If you are struggling to be happy with what you have now, just look at the next person below you—who has less than you have and yet may be happy. To be able to keep forging forward, you must celebrate whatever it is that you have achieved, even if it’s tiny.
Life could have be a lot better for you and it could certainly have been a lot worse for you too—so be thankful with how things are now. And through being happy with today, you will begin to see the opportunities hidden in today and tomorrow.
Nothing achieved is useless; it depends on how you decide to see it. Therefore, look for the great value in where you are today and be happy that you have that. Using what you have today as a ladder, jump to the next.
Remember, there is more energy in a happy jump—so be happy with what you have today.
