Malaga (3)

Though it was early April, the weather in London was as if we were deep into one of the bad winter months. The cold weather coupled with the unfailing rain made it extensively stressful and unenergetic, following a really long bad winter. The winter was the coldest since the last 50 years-according to the London Met.

I knew it was time to find the Sun and a good weather somewhere if it was taking forever to show up in London.

After a quick check around Europe, we realized the weather had been pretty messy all around but it was a little better in Spain.

Quickly, we managed to secure a week booking with the help of a friend through his Club La Costa membership. We opted for a Sea Front apartment with a maximum of 4 occupants-we were definitely not going for just the Sun but to PARTY.

Luton Airport To Malaga Airport

As you may know, I live just 10 minutes from the London-Luton Airport and as such, it was not much of a travel or hustle for Abi and I to get to the Airport for an early morning flight to Malaga.

I must mention that, it was a hell of travel for Eva. Coming all the way from Kent, South East London meant that she had to jump off bed at 3am…

All the same, she was able to get to the Airport on time and after a ‘smooth’ check-in, we enjoyed a cup of tea as we wait to board our flight.

When it was time to board, we realized our seating arrangement was not going to work in our favour. Since Abi booked her ticket and mine together, we were seated close to each other with Eva having been placed few seats away from us.

We wanted to sit together and beat the 2 and half hours travel with random chats. In order to achieve this, we decided to push our luck by neglecting our allocated seats to settle on the first 3 empty seats we found on the plane.

Most times that I have travelled around Europe, I have realized people hardly bother with their seat numbers.  Majority of people settle in whatever seat they find empty, after all we will all get there the same time and so what is the big fuss about seating arrangement.

Being Kicked Out Of The Wrong Seats

Shortly after we sat down, a couple approached us and requested that we vacate the seats. They had the right to ask for this since we were sitting on their allocated seats. But then, what is the point when there were many empty seats which they could have settled on-being just two…

Our fantasy to fly sitting close to each other was brought to an end. Abi and I had to relocate to our seats whiles Eva moved back into hers…

In The Air

When I heard it was going to be 2 and half hours flight, I knew that is  a good 2 hours sleep for me-I needed it.

The moment the plane was balanced in the air, I dozed off and the girls did the same too. I was woken by the announcement ‘fasten your seat belt and prepare for landing’.

At Malaga Airport

As expected, we struggled to obtained directions to our Resort as most of the people we approached hardly speak any good English. Those who spoke excellent English had no idea where our Resort was located…

We wanted to establish how far the Resort was from the airport and decide whether to jump into a taxi or find a bus which would cheaply take us there…

Without any help forthcoming, we decided to jump into a taxi and the charge was 42 Euros for 30 minutes ride…Welcome to Spain!

At Our Resort-Club La Costa

After the usual check-in and the receptionist taking several copies of our passports and details of a credit card to secure all our charges on there, we were escorted to our apartment on the resort.

Our apartment was located in a beautiful complex building-Marina Del Rey. We had a great sea view and both the cold & warm swimming pools where located beneath us…LOL

Activities On The Resort

Our stay on the Resort was amusing. We had a lot to do each day. Apart from the usual holidays’ dinner, lunch, swimming, relaxing and countless bar visits, we also had great times at the nearby beach.

The Tropicana restaurant located just by the sea served some great cocktails and food….

Back on the resort, we took a day off to enjoy a ride on their mini train while admiring the great Resort landscape and the several beautiful apartments found on the ‘cosmic’ Resort.

And There Came The Marbella Visit…

As usual, trust women to come up with crazy unscripted ideas. We did not intend to visit Marbella but for some reason, the girls asked that we abandon our nearby beach and head to Marbella beach where the craziness and real fun exist.

I was enticed by the idea that the party is great out there and it was just an hour ride on the bus from our Resort…

So we got to Marbella and it was…I will let you find out the rest in photos (enjoy)
