Stop Focusing On What Could Go Wrong & Concentrate On What Could Go Right!

Despite the fact that we hate negativity as human beings, we seem to be very much attracted to negative thoughts—and we focus on negativity more than necessary.

Waking up from your bed is a positive thing and being able to walk out of bed to the bathroom is another positive event. No matter the number of positive happenings that will fill our day, a little drop of negativity can make us feel hopeless; over-shadowing all that have gone well for us.

It is pretty worse when it comes to future happenings—when it comes to what we want to do, especially if there is risk involved. Many of us continue to sit in our comfort zones though we yearn for progress simply because we can’t afford to let go the thought of what could go wrong should we get out there…

Surely, everything that has a brighter side must have a dark side. But it is up to us to choose the side we want to focus on, build our energy on and derive satisfaction from.

Apart from being plunged into deep fear and curtailing your own progress, focusing on what could go wrong does not make you a better person. In fact, it takes you far away from risk and how can you be any better or successful without taking up the needed risk in life?

The distraction that surrounds negative thoughts is beyond measure. Such thoughts come in place for one reason— just to make sure a huge gap is created between you and your goal.

You cannot totally disregard negative thoughts in life but one thing you can do is to limit the attention and how much you focus/dwell on it. To this, it is better to count the number of positive events that come your way, including those you consider to be ordinary. That way, you will acknowledge the many things going right for you even though they could have gone wrong…

There is no need to devote your thoughts to negative sentiments. Think more about how great things could turn out and even if it does not happen, the fact that you are still alive to acknowledge that something negative has happened is a positive experience—-because it could have been worse.
